Nicole Camilleri is Nestlé USA’s Packaging Sustainability Manager. Her role is to develop business strategies to support Nestlé’s vision that none of its packaging ends up in the landfill or as litter. She also collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive progress so that Nestlé USA’s packaging is 100% recyclable or reusable by 2025 as well as reducing GHG emissions.

Nicole’s sustainable packaging portfolio utilizes a wide array of packaging materials and formats. And she relies on evidence-based decision-making by considering the full life cycle impacts; including packaging materials, production, distribution and end-of-life handling. Strategies she leads include designing for recycling, redesigning packaging to be fit-for-purpose by reducing unnecessary materials, increasing the usage of PCR to promote the circular economy of plastics, evaluating alternative packaging materials and exploring reuseable packaging solutions. She has played an instrumental role in the widespread adoption of How2Recycle labeling for Nestlé USA’s products, including Coffee-mate creamers, DiGiorno pizzas and Stouffers’ frozen entrees.

Nicole has been in the packaging industry for over 12 years, and before transitioning into her current role, Nicole served as a Technical Packaging Senior Specialist supporting multiple Nestlé USA divisions. She graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Packaging.
